Assen MotoGP Circuit: Features
.Ever since the Netherlands began hosting the Motorcycle World Championship from its very first edition in 1949, the Dutch appointment has always taken place on this circuit.
In the past, competitions in Assen were held on the road, at least until the construction of the modern circuit in 1955. Initially longer, it was gradually shortened over the years for technical and safety reasons.
The Assen circuit was specifically designed for motorcycle racing, to the extent that four-wheel events are quite sporadic. The track is 4.5 km long and includes 21 turns and several straights, with the longest nearly reaching a kilometer. The Assen circuit allows very high speeds and is renowned as a particularly challenging track.
