Losail MotoGP Circuit: Features
The Losail circuit, also known as the Lusail International Circuit, was opened in 2004 in less than a year of work. The 5.5 km track includes 16 turns and a long straight of over 1 km, at the end of which MotoGP riders will face one of the most challenging turns in the Motorcycle World Championship.
Qatar MotoGP: History and Trivia
The Qatar MotoGP was born in 2004 and first held in the Losail circuit, hastily constructed for the occasion. The race was scheduled on Saturday instead of Sunday until 2008, the year in which the circuit was also equipped with its renowned lighting system.

The Losail GP is the only MotoGP race to be held at night.
The Lusail International Circuit is surrounded by artificial green areas to prevent desert sand from reaching the track.
The most successful MotoGP riders on this circuit are the Italian Valentino Rossi and the Australian Casey Stonerwith four victories each.
